AAABNA GOALS & MISSION

Mission

Our mission is to create new business opportunities for African Americans in the Austin Area as well as the city of Chicago. To help carry out our plan, our objectives serve as a reinforcement of our purpose. Our objectives include incubating new businesses, creating student scholarship opportunities, business resource guides, creating intern programs for the youth, business education awareness and networking with community groups and organizations.

Did you know that AAABNA is a Neighborhood Business Development Center?

  When to Contact Your Neighborhood Business Development Centers

NBDCs have a strong neighborhood network and coordinate efforts with local aldermen, the city, and other community partners. They can help start-up entrepreneurs, and existing business partners with:

  • Information about a particular neighborhood

  • Getting a new small business started

  • Troubleshooting City-related issues for small businesses

  • Connecting businesses to financial resources

  • Business-to-business networking opportunities

  • Employment and workforce development assistance

  • Consumer marketing assistance

  • Connecting your business to the local community

Chicago Business Center Program

Your Chicago Business Center Provides:

1. Business License, Public Way Use Permit, and City Resources Support | City of Chicago business license and public way use permit online applications through Chicago Business Direct, as well as preparing and connecting with a BACP Business Consultant

2. Funding for Underrepresented Populations | Business funding (debt and/or non-debt) resources especially to those who have historically lacked access to banks and capital networks

3. Professional Services, including Sector-Specific Guidance | Professional development and specialized, sector-specific, business resources; BACP and CBCs, in partnership with corporate providers, present the Corporate Partner Webinar Series
